Fish info :)

Okay, soooo...

if you're lost or a random visiter; check in this post for details about WHY(?) I'm writing this :)

ABOUT MY FISH:

Species: Guppy, millionfish (FIN: miljoonakala, SWE: guppy)

Size: (my) females are usually around 4-6 cm (1.6-2.4") long once fully grown, males about the same size

Current watercondition: temperature about 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit), I've never checked the pH etc, but I've never had any issues with these guys (tough fellows) :P

Current size of tank: 60 liters (about 16 US gallons)

Current friends: Goldfish and two Elegant corydoras/elegant catfishes (FIN: Kultakala ja kaksi Korumonnista, SWE: en guldfisk och två eleganta panseramaler)

Additional info about friends: when I first got the goldfish these guys were terrified since they hadn't seen a big fish before, sooo if you have big fishies and no smaller ones...... I wouldn't feel to safe giving you a few of these.... Also, no nipping fishies are good friends for these, just saying :)

Food: I give them fishflakes that are meant for colourful fish (FIN: väriloistoa edistäviä kalahiutaleita, SWE: fiskflingor för färgglans)

So what do these guys look like? (sadly I can't take pictures of them since they won't stay still, so I took these off the web, tried to get them as exact as possible)

Males:
.... but with darker markings on the tails

And then I have some male "teens" who seem to have orange tails and lightblue back-fins (?) for the most part... Might have a few teen males with greenish-shaded tails, but I don't know, those might be females too (hard to tell yet)

Females:
... for the most part they look like  the one in the ''male'' pic, dull grey with some shade on the tail :P

I also have 2 females and one male of this kind of colour...... *look down below*
male
female
(one of the babies is also of this colour)
.... BUT (!!) I'm not giving those away ^^ ♥

To make it short;

these guys are very lively and swim around all over the place (not just close to the surface), they have never (yes im serious) been ill or anythign like that... PLUS +++++ they are capable of having babies :) so you only need a couple and soon youll have manymany more :)

And I promise I won't be expensive, I'll pick the price depending on which you decide to take (aka 3 males cost more than 3 females caus theyre more appealing to the eye :P I'm such a cold-hearted bastard...)

PLEASE help me ^^

Like a fish in a bowl..

Hey again (sorry for my absence)....

SAVE ME!!! I'm in trouble - my fish are reproducing at a pace that's just too much... When all the ''teens'' and newest babies (I saved 2 ones - one was of a nicenice colour and ofc I had to keep a friend with him/her) grow into full size my tank will flood.... ://

I have a Goldfish who eats the babies (I know this sounds terrible, but in my opinion its more humane than flushing the fish down the toilet (while they're alive)), so I have at least SOME sort of a population-controling-system....

Obviously the goldfish doesn't eat the teens or fullgrown ones, so all the adults and bigger babies I had when I got the goldfish are still there... *sigh

I really don't want to flush them down the toilet, feed them to the cats or give the teens to my brothers goldfish and frogs (they would have a feast) - what to do?!

My solution; I will give them - or sell them for a tiny price, to friends/others who want them - and will provide them with food and care. :)

Check my next post for further information :))
